Awami League leader’s wife seldom takes class but draws salary regularly

Allegations of withdrawing regular salary and other allowances without teaching for months have reportedly been raised against a female teacher of Rangabali Model High School of Patuakhali, according to media report.

Senor assistant teacher Sazeda Begum, wife a local Awami League (AL) Leader, is currently living with her family member in a flat of the capital.

Her son Swargo is a class-VI student of Adamjee Cantonment Public School and College at Dhaka.

The senior assistant teacher is permanently staying with her son for taking care of his studies.

Even, six graders of Rangabali Model High School can rarely identified their teacher, as she didn’t teach them for a single day this year.

Saiduzzaman Mamun, husband of Sazeda Begum, is a leader of AL Rangabali upazila unit and close aide of local Member of Parliament (MP).

Mamun, also the Rangabali Union Parishad Chairman, is the chairman of the governing body of the school.

When asked about the matter, Sazeda Begum said, “I have been undergoing treatment for one-and-half months at a hospital of the capital as I was diagnosed with Typhoid. Before this, I attended the school.”

Mujibur Rahman, headmaster of Rangabali Model High School, “Sazeda Begum went on a vacation. She is currently staying in the capital as her son has been diagnosed with dengue.”
